Sister Edith Paschall recognized that the theology she was required to teach wasn’t always connecting with her students' lived experiences. She believed that truly reaching people required listening to their culture and meeting them where they were. At her students' request, she even watched Star Wars, seeing it as both an invitation from them and an opportunity to reflect on how God indirectly prepares each generation to hear His word.
Through life experience and engagement with the community, we are called to transcend ourselves—opening our hearts to grace and allowing faith to take root in ways that truly resonate.
